Shelton Company Donates Easter Baskets

CONTRIBUTEDFour area shelters in Fairfield County recently benefited from the generosity of the DiMatteo Group in Shelton, who recently delivered 100 Easter baskets to homeless children in the region.

Since this annual drive was started over 15 years ago, a total of 1,500 baskets have brightened the lives of area children.

Kim DiMatteo of Bethany, a partner and vice president of the DiMatteo Group, along with her children and their friends, have spearheaded this community service project. Each gift basket is filled with age-appropriate necessities.

Baskets were delivered to the following shelters: Norwalk Emergency Shelter and Domestic Violence Crisis Center, both in Norwalk, and Inspirica, Inc. and Domestic Violence Crisis Center, both in Stamford.

My family spends a couple of weeks preparing and shopping for this greatly anticipated community service project,” said DiMatteo. Then we assemble the gift baskets and hand-deliver them as a group. Each of the shelters is so appreciative and grateful for the time and effort we put into the gift baskets. All of us enjoy helping others, especially around the holidays.”

Founded over 54 years ago, DiMatteo Group gives back to the community regularly as part of its mission statement. This family-owned and operated business specializes in insurance, employee benefits, income tax and financial services.
