Shelton Police: We Have Several Leads In Teen’s Shooting

Shelton police on Monday said they were following several leads to determine who shot a 15-year-old Shelton High School student Saturday night and why.

The boy, identified as Kristjan Ndoj, was in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital Monday, according to police.

He was shot in the head and leg.

Kristjan was found by cops in the driveway of 1 Agawam Trail just before 9 p.m. Saturday after a 911 call from the homeowner, Shelton police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said at a press conference at the police station Monday.

Kozlowsky said police spent Sunday processing the scene where Kristjan was shot and would be following up on leads Monday.

Police did not go into details about the specific circumstances that led to the shooting, saying only that Kristjan, who lives downtown, went with a friend to the area of Agawam Trail Friday night to meet up with other friends.

Kozlowsky said police are not ruling anything out.”

We’re following several leads,” he said. Yesterday our main priority was scene processing and interviews of the people that were in the area. Right now we’re in the phase of the investigation where we want to do re-interviews, talk to people and figure out why and who.”

On Monday NBC Connecticut and WTNH reported Monday that relatives of the boy said he had received a threatening phone call days before the incident.

Asked whether the boy was threatened, Kozlowsky said police were aware of the alleged threat and that it is one of many angles” detectives are investigating.

There’s plenty of theories, plenty of rumors going on, but we are taking them all very seriously,” he said.

He asked that anyone with information about the incident to call police at 203 924 1544.

Kozlowsky said police do not know what kind of gun was used, and are still trying to determine where the shots that hit Kristjan were fired from.

He said police have seized evidence, but would not go into detail about what they seized.

No arrests have been made.

Beth Smith, the headmaster of Shelton High School, said there was a subdued atmosphere Monday at the school.

Our thoughts and prayers go out from the Shelton High School community to Kristjan and his family,” Smith said. This is a very somber day at Shelton High School.”

Shelton High School students used Twitter to create a hashtag asking people to pray for the boy and his family.
