Shelton Fire Department Weekly Calls

Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora submitted the following summary of the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department’s calls from last week.

On 06/12/17 at 8:39 am the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Pine Rock Co.#4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #10 Brae Loch Way. There was no fire. One engine responded.
 
On 06/12/17 at 9:41 am the White Hills Co. #5 responded to the area of East Village Road and White Oak Road for an odor of smoke. Responding firefighters found a small open burning taking place on East Village Road was the cause. One engine responded.
 
On 06/12/17 at 1:15 pm the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5, Pine Rock Co.#4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Brownson Country Club at #15 Soundview Avenue. There was no fire. Two engines and one tower truck responded.
 
On 06/12/17 at 2:47 pm the Huntington Co. #3, White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #34 Canfield Drive. There was no fire. One engine and a tower truck responded.
 
On 06/13/17 at 6:49 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to #100 Beard Saw Mill Road to rescue a kitten trapped under the hood of a locked vehicle. One rescue truck responded.
 
On 06/13/17 at 8:02 pm the White Hills Co. #5, Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Leavenworth Road at Birdseye Road. Firefighters extricated a person from a vehicle involved. Two engines, two rescue trucks and one utility truck responded.
 
On 06/15/17 at 4:46 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #704 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. Steam from cooking caused the alarm. One engine and one tower truck responded.
 
On 06/15/16 at 5:57 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a brush fire on Leavenworth Road. Two engines and one tanker truck responded.
 
On 06/15/16 at 7:02 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded to a stove fire at #54 Martinka Drive. The fire was out upon arrival of fire units. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.
 
On 06/16/17 at 10:21 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #25 Forest Parkway. There was no fire. One engine, one ladder truck and one tower truck responded.
 
On 06/16/17 at 3:04 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to a report of an odor of natural gas at #147 Woodlawn Park. Two engines responded.
 
On 06/16/17 at 8:16 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a report of power lines down in the road on Brownson Drive. Two engines responded.
 
On 06/16/17 at 8:18 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at the Outback Steakhouse #698 Bridgeport Avenue. There was no fire. One engine, one ladder truck and a tower truck responded.
 
On 06/17/17 at 10:41 am the Echo Hose Co. #1, Huntington Co. #3 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #108 Country Place. There was no fire. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.
 
On 06/17/17 at 1:03 pm the Pine Rock Park Co #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #25 Forest Parkway. There was no fire. A malfunction in the alarm system was the cause. One engine responded.
 
On 06/17/17 at 9:43 pm the Huntington Co. #3, the White Hills Co. #5 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded to a residential fire alarm sounding at #15 Misty Lane. One engine and one tower truck responded.
 
On 06/17/17 at 11:59 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded to a fire on top of a utility pole on Howe Avenue at Housatonic Rise. The fire resulted in a power outage in the area for several hours. Two engines responded.
 
On 06/18/17 at 6:01 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to an electric outlet on fire at #69 Howe Avenue. The fire was out upon arrival of fire units. One engine and one ladder truck responded.
 
0n 06/18/17 at 12:26 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Park Co #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #147 Kneen Street. There was no fire. Two engines responded.
 
On 06/18/17 at 1:24 pm the Huntington Co. #3, Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at #6207 Avalon Drive. There was no fire. Two engines and one ladder truck responded.
 
On 06/18/17 at 4:08 pm the Huntington Co. #3 responded to an open burning call at #75 Walnut Tree Hill Road. One engine responded.
