Shelton Garden Committee Sponsoring Talk From Pest Control Expert

The Shelton Community Garden Committee is sponsoring a free talk from an official with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station.

Kimberly A. Stoner, a scientist at the station, will speak March 9 at 7 p.m. in the City Hall auditorium, 54 Hill St.

With degrees in zoology and entomology, Dr. Stoner has expertise in developing alternatives to insecticides for managing vegetable insects, working with organic farms and land care professionals on pest management, and studying the exposure of pollinators to pesticides in pollen and nectar,” according to the agricultural experiment station’s website.

No registration is required to attend the talk.
