A 69-year-old Shelton woman died in a head-on crash on River Road Friday afternoon.
Rosemarie Dwyer was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital after a 1:30 p.m. two-car crash in front of the Sports Center of Connecticut, 784 River Road.
Police closed the road for several hours to start an investigation. Limited info was released Friday evening.
Samantha Monaco, 23, of Shelton, was driving the other vehicle in the crash. She was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with “non life-threatening” injuries, according to police.
The department’s accident reconstruction team is investigating.
