Smash And Grab Burglary Reported In Ansonia

Ansonia police asked business owners to check and update surveillance cameras after an overnight burglary Tuesday on North Main Street.

Police said officers were sent to a business in the early morning hours after a suspect threw a rock through the business’ window, then went inside and stole cigarettes.

Police described two suspects, a white man possibly driving a white Jeep Compass, and a black man with a pronounced limp.”

If anyone has information regarding this incident please contact the police department,” police said in an email sent to business owners in the city. We are reminding everyone to check and update their camera systems and ensure the contact information for your business is up to date as well.”

Tuesday’s smash and grab burglary follows several burglaries recently reported in Seymour and Oxford.
