Holidays at the Symphony’
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Continues until Dec. 20
Visit the rooms of the Osborne Homestead Museum magnificently decorated to the theme of Holidays at the Symphony.” 
Each room beautifully showcases the different musical components of the symphony orchestra. 
Upon entering the museum, visitors will see and learn about the musical instrument families and the Osborne family’s influence in the music industry.

SATURDAY, DEC. 13

Popcorn Ball Saturday, Toy Drive In Shelton’s White Hills
9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Santa will be escorted on a fire truck through the White Hills of Shelton. Santa and his helpers will be passing out popcorn balls to children during Santa’s tour through White Hills. The trip begins in Upper White Hills and ends in Lower White Hills. Members of the White Hills Fire Company will follow Santa’s engine with Pickup trucks as part of the fire company’s Toys 4 Kids drive. New unwrapped toys will be collected by the firefighters for distribution by Team Inc.

Breakfast With Santa”
9 a.m. to noon
Hotchkiss Hose Co. 1 invites you to Breakfast with Santa Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at Hotchkiss Hose Co. 1, 200 David Humphreys Road.
$20 per family (up to 4 people). Each additional person $5. Includes all-you-can-eat breakfast with juice and coffee, plus a visit and photo op with Santa and a special gift for each child!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’
10 a.m.
For kids ages 3 to 8
(Registration required)
A special holiday event at the Derby Public Library. 
Families with children ages 3 to 8 are invited to celebrate the season with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, presented by Linda Milardo. 
The program includes stories, songs, and a reindeer ornament craft.

Seymour Becomes Bedford Falls”
From 10 a.m. on
Downtown Seymour transforms into Bedford Falls, the town from the classic It’s A Wonderful Life” 

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Breakfast with Santa at The All-American Valley General Store, 16 Bank St.
  • 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Horse-drawn carriage rides
  • 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Country dinner
  • 7:30 p.m. Strand Olde Opry” (musical concert) at the Strand Theatre on Main Street. Tickets for the concert are $20 and can be purchased in advance at the General Store.

Bell Ringing For Charity”
Noon to 1 p.m.
Shelton state Reps. Jason Perillo and Ben McGorty, as well as state Sen. Kevin Kelly, will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.

Seymour Land Trust Christmas”
5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Kids with special needs get pics with Santa
6 p.m.: Fireworks!
6:20 p.m.: Pics with Santa for all kids starts
The land trust building is extensively decorated!
Event is FREE — but the Land Trust is asking for a donation of canned food.
There’s even an Honorary First Selectman” contest. The person who donates the most canned goods gets a chance to tag along with First Selectman Kurt Miller to work on Dec. 23. To enter the contest, you must donate at least 25 items.
The even wraps up at roughly 8 p.m.

We Need A Little Christmas’
7 p.m.
A holiday concert by the Naugatuck Community Band.
The concert is free, under the direction of Charles Marenghi with special guest JJ Martin on vocals.
A food and toy drive for a local charity be part of the event and you are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped educational children’s toy ages 0 – 12 years old to donate.

Derby Library Holiday Open House’
11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
From 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Marc Weissman will entertain all visitors with his keyboard as he plays the sounds of the season. 
In what has become a holiday tradition, once again highlighting the festivities will be a visit from the Connecticut Yuletide Carolers from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (please register for this portion of the program under the 6 p.m. Eventkeeper listing).

Cookies and punch will be available throughout the day. 
There will also be free holiday-themed basket raffles open to all visitors. 
As usual, this beautiful historic building will be decked, inside and out, in all its holiday glory. Everyone is invited to take part in this special day.
