Three Charged In Shelton Vehicle Burglaries

Shelton police have charged three juveniles in a rash of car break-ins last week and said more arrests are expected.

In a prepared statement, Detective Christopher Nugent said Shelton cops were assisted by police from Waterbury, Seymour, Milford, and Orange, who were able to link the juveniles to numerous car burglaries of unlocked vehicles.”

Police said the three were each charged with seven counts each of third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, as well as single counts of first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.

Nugent said the break-ins occurred last week during the overnight hours.”

The names of those charged were not released because they were charged as juveniles. Court proceedings against juveniles are kept secret in Connecticut.

Nugent reminded residents to lock and remove any valuables from their vehicles at night, and to call police if they see suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
