Time Is Running Out To Order A Personalized Brick For Derby’s 9-11 Memorial

Photo:ethan fryThe Derby Fire Department is creating a monument to memorialize all those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Firefighters were granted permission by the Port Authority of NY/NJ to use a piece of steel from the World Trade Center as part of the memorial, which will be placed on the Derby Green.

But the firefighters need your help to offset costs associated with building the memorial.

You can help by purchasing a brick to be placed on the walkway around the monument.

Each brick is $100. Bricks can be etched to memorialize a company, group, individual, family or other loved one.

Each brick is 4 inches and 8 inches and can have up to three lines of text (up to 18 characters per line).

The deadline to receive orders and checks is Tuesday, July 15.

You can order your brick on-line at www.bricksrus.com/order/derby911.
