Tripp To Kick Off 17th District Campaign Sept. 24

Lt. Col. Phil Tripp today announced the Grand Opening of his Campaign Headquarters.

The event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. at 301 Main St., Ansonia.

Phil Tripp is a life-long resident of the 17th District, born and raised in Hamden and presently serving as President of the Board of Aldermen in Ansonia.

He is a proud veteran, having served 34 years in the National Guard before retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

I’m tired of seeing Connecticut ranked last nationally on every list of economic health,” states Tripp. I’m running for state senate because enough is enough.”

The Grand Opening will provide Tripp with an opportunity to set the tone for the campaign.

Hartford’s focus must be on lower taxes, more jobs and less of the red-tape regulations that strangle our business owners,” he states. It’s about time elected officials stopped crafting supporting legislation like Common Core and start embracing the pure principles of fiscal restraint and accountability.”

It’s not too late for a Connecticut Comeback,” states Tripp. But to change Connecticut we first have to change our leadership. The truth is that incumbents like Joe Crisco are the problem, supporting massive tax increases and burdensome business regulations that have poisoned the economic health of our state.”

At the event Tripp is expected to outline his approach to fixing Hartford.

It begins with having real respect for our taxpayers,” he hinted. I pledge to vote against any future tax increases and you can rest assured it’s a pledge I will honor if elected.”
