Two In Hospital After Ansonia Crash

How’s your day going? Probably not as bad as an unfortunate soul who partially amputated his finger Monday morning.

The 20-something man hurt his finger with a power saw, according to emergency responders, but that was just the start of his troubles.

A friend was taking the man to Griffin Hospital’s emergency room when the Jeep Grand Cherokee they were riding in collided with a sedan at the intersection of Division Street and Clifton Avenue on the Ansonia-Derby border.

The Jeep’s driver and his previously injured passenger were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The injuries from the crash did not appear to be life-threatening.

The crash was reported at 10:30 a.m. Additional details were not immediately available.

Ansonia police are investigating.
