Way To Go, Max!

Last Wednesday, May 17, the Derby Elks Lodge Local 571 held their annual drug awareness dinner for students at St. Mary’s‑St Michael’s School in Derby.

Congratulations to seventh grade student Max Shuart, whose essay in the drug awareness contest won him first place at Elks Lodge Local 571, first place in District Lodge (eight lodges) and first place for best in state (31 lodges).

Max’s essay has been submitted to the Grand Lodge in Chicago and is awaiting the results from the nationals.
