Katherine “Kay” Fitzgerald, age 93, wife of the late Deacon Robert W. Fitzgerald and Seymour resident, entered into eternal rest March 21.
She was born Dec. 11, 1919 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Francis Welser & Nora Keefe Welser, and graduated from The Assumption Church School in Ansonia & St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Class of 1941.
Katherine was a parishioner of St. Jude’s Church in Derby and was the former head of the English Dept. for Ansonia High School.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Katrina Fitzgerald of Derby, Patricia Ryan of Blue Point, N.Y. & Diane Baklik of Seymour, two sons, Robert E. Fitzgerald of Denver, Colorado & Mark Fitzgerald of Madison, N.J., two sisters Margaret Pergola & Mary Kelly, both of New Jersey, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
She was buried privately in the family plot in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, at a later date to be announced. There are no calling hours.
