Happy Christmas Likely Tomorrow
ANSONIA — Another Christmas will dawn tomorrow, reminding the world that it is the occasion of peace on earth and good will to men.

Nine Year Old Girl Dies Of Diptheria
ANSONIA — Another diptheria death was record last night. Eva, the 9-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wasil Pedbereznak, of Riggs Street, passed away after a brief illness with the malady. Four other children in the same family afflicted with the disease are recovering and are no longer under the care of a physician.

Liquor Found In Windsor Hotel
SEYMOUR — A successful liquor raid was made in the Windsor Hotel, 7 Second Street, Friday evening at 8:30 o’clock. When Officer Joseph Wheeler and Jacon Grele rushed into the place, Mrs. Mary Plasko, proprietor of the restaurant, threw a bottle of hooch down the cellar stairs and then tried to stall off the constables by demanding the warrant be read to her. She was fined $200.

Elks’ Christmas Party A Success
SEYMOUR — The annual Christmas party given by the Seymour Elks for the town kiddies was in every way a complete success Christmas morning, the program going off exactly as laid out in the program.

Home Burns Down On Christmas Eve
DERBY — While the entire city was joyous in its celebration of Xmas eve the crimson flaring specter of fire completely destroyed the home of Clarence Mallahan of E Street. Members of the family were out doing their holiday shopping down town when the blaze broke out and was discovered by a neighbor.

Farewell Reception To Scout Executive
ANSONIA — A farewell reception was tendered to Scout Executive C.O. Ward of Housatonic council, Boy Scouts of America, in the state armory on Sunday night. President James B. Atwater of behalf of the executive committee presented Mr. Ward with framed resolutions showing the appreciation for the work he had done as head of the Scouts.

Last Chance For Tickets
ANSONIA — Those who have ordered tickets at the Capitol theater for the midnight show on New Year’s eve and have not yet called to procure them, will be out of luck so to speak, unless they call at the box office by tomorrow night and take them.

Phone Directories Out
DERBY — Delivery of the winter issue of the phone directory began today when employees of T.F. Stapleton distributed copies in Ansonia and Shelton. It will take about two days to completely cover Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Shelton.

Mrs. Gesek Fined
SEYMOUR — Mrs. Mary Gesek of West Street, who was arrested last Thursday evening for driving without a license, pleaded guilty in town court last night. Her excuse to the court was that she had no time to get a license. She had been operating two years, it seems, without one. She was fined $31.60 and was told she could not get a receipt.
