Mildred Alice (Satula) Magda “Millie”, age 96 of Seymour, and a former longtime Oxford resident, entered into peaceful rest on July, 11, 2025. She was the beloved wife of 39 years, to the late Joseph F. Magda.
Mrs. Magda was born November 11, 1928 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Zelvis) Satula, and was of Lithuanian decent.
Millie grew up in Waterbury, and she was a 1946 Graduate of Wilby High School. As a dedicated homemaker, Millie also worked in Ciesinski’s Bake Shop and the former Klarides in the Bakery Dept. She continued her love of baking always having a sweet treat for any occasion.
Millie was a Communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford, and served on the Ladies Guild for several years. She was proud to have been on the Oxford Democratic Registrar of Voters and loved seeing all the Oxford residents during elections.
Millie loved any opportunity to play BINGO, a good card game, Yahtzee, or take a chance on a Lottery Ticket. She was also an avid reader and loved to watch UCONN Basketball and the Red Sox as well.
Mildred fiercely loved her children and her many nieces and nephews; she leaves her loving children, Robert Magda of Seymour, Gary Magda of Oxford, and Susan Chellis and her companion Francis McGeever of Middlebury. She was predeceased by brothers, Albert and Edward Satula, and her sisters, Frances Butkis and Theresa Verseckas.
Calling Hours are Wednesday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Southford Cemetery.
