Marc Jacques Ryckelynck, age 78 of Ansonia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 25, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jaqueline Dziuba, and his two children, daughter Ann Kearney and son in law Bill, and son Paul Kely and partner Charlie. Marc was a devoted and doting grandfather to Amelia, Elijah, and Micah.

Marc was born in Paris, France on March 24, 1947, where he was in the army and eventually made his way to Stamford, CT to work in the late 1960s. Speaking multiple languages, he eventually put down firm roots in Connecticut where he became a soccer coach, cooking guru, and family man.

Marc loved the outdoors, including skiing, swimming, and camping with both his wife and children. He spent hours gardening and finding new ways to keep the vermin from his peppers and tomatoes, and always saved a hot pepper to test his son and grandson’s heat tolerance. Marc was a lover of all snacks, savory, sweet, and international, always wanting to share his newest find with everyone.

Marc was a communicant of Holy Rosary Parish and a member of The Holy Rosary Council Knights of Columbus, which became a crucial part of his life, including delivering meals on Christmas Eve and Easter to those less fortunate. He was a true caregiver to all, providing rides, support, and help to those in the community and family.

Marc had a curiosity and empathy towards world events. He was an intellect who loved science, philosophy, reading, and collecting books. He and his grandson would spend hours talking about numbers, the universe, and the unknown.

Marc was always smiling and was loved by nearly everyone he met. He will truly be missed.

Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. On Thursday his procession will leave the parlor at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.

Memorial contributions are encouraged by the family to the Knights of Columbus Holy Rosary Council, 10 Fr. Salemi Drive, Ansonia, CT 06401 and to ORTV (www.ortv.org)
