Ansonia police received 519 calls for service and made 10 arrests between Aug. 11, 2025 and Aug. 17, 2025.
Monday, Aug. 11, 2025
7:18 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on East Main Street.
9:09 a.m. Police arrested a 40-year-old woman on Beaver Street and charged her with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
12:48 p.m. Police were conducting radar enforcement on Beaver Street and Franklin Street.
4:15 p.m. During a traffic stop, an officer charged a Stamford man on North Main Street with driving without a license, registration, or insurance.
7:20 p.m. A caller on West Roosevelt Drive lodged an animal complaint.
8:33 p.m. Police received a report of an abandoned motor vehicle on Hubbell Avenue.
Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025
1:31 a.m. A caller reported suspicious activity on North Main Street.
8:38 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Fourth Street and Winter Street.
12:05 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bridge Street and Main Street.
2:14 p.m. Police responded to a reported overdose on Rockwood Avenue.
5:18 p.m. Police attempted to serve a warrant.
7:35 p.m. Police arrested a 19-year-old East Haven man and charged him with illegal possession of fireworks.
8:30 p.m. While responding to a report of an abandoned motor vehicle on Nolan Road, police arrested a 33-year-old man and a 45-year-old man and charged both of them with possession of a controlled substance. The 33-year-old man was also charged with sale of a narcotic substance.
Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025
10:33 a.m. A caller reported trespassing on Pershing Drive.
1:24 p.m. Police received two reports of an abandoned motor vehicle on High Street.
1:33 p.m. Police were alerted to a possible structure fire on North State Street. There was no fire.
6:48 p.m. After responding to a motor vehicle accident on Bridge Street, police charged a 22-year-old Bridgeport man with failure to insure a motor vehicle.
10:01 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity on Woodlawn Avenue.
Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025
12:03 a.m. Police received a report of hazardous road conditions on Clifton Avenue and Division Street.
3:03 a.m. Police arrested a 32-year-old man on Fifth Street and charged him with second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.
8:52 a.m. Officers were conducting radar enforcement on Beaver Street and North Main Street.
11:10 a.m. A caller reported illegal parking on North Coe Lane.
1:38 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny on Benz Street.
3:51 p.m. Police arrested two people, a 24-year-old Shelton man and a 24-year-old Ansonia woman, on Ford Street and charged both with disorderly conduct.
Friday, Aug. 15, 2025
11:21 a.m. A caller on Ford Street lodged an animal complaint.
4:28 p.m. Police received a report of illegal parking on Wakelee Avenue.
4:37 p.m. Police responded to a report of shoplifting on West Main Street.
8:42 p.m. Police charged a 37-year-old Seymour man on North Main Street with traveling unreasonably fast and driving on a suspended license.
11:23 p.m. A caller on Hill Street reported disorderly conduct.
Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025
7:25 a.m. Police served a subpoena.
10:54 a.m. A caller on North State Street reported an abandoned motor vehicle.
12:15 p.m. Police arrested a 31-year-old man on Jewett Street and charged him with second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.
12:25 p.m. Police received a ‘lost and found’ call from Main Street.
10:12 p.m. A caller reported loitering near Seventh Street and Sixth Street.
Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025
9:10 a.m. Acting on a report of suspicious activity, police arrested a 24-year-old man from Smithfield, R.I., and charged him with trespass of railroad property, third-degree burglary, and sixth-degree larceny.
10:04 a.m. Police responded to a report of a stolen license plate on North Main Street.
11:00 a.m. Police arrested a 26-year-old man and charged him with violating probation.
12:18 p.m. Police were alerted to a reported structure fire on Bartholomew Avenue. The fire was a stovetop fire that left one person with minor burn injuries.
7:07 p.m. Police charged a 29-year-old Hamden woman on Pulaski Highway with driving on a suspended license and traveling unreasonably fast.
