A memorial Mass in honor of Peter M. Sosnovich, Jr. will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at Assumption Church, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia.
Peter, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 11, 2025. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Cheryl, for 57 years, and a cherished friend to many. He is survived by his brothers Donald and Richard (Diane) Sosnovich of Seymour, a niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Peter. Sr. and Stacia Sosnovich.
Peter, a former Ansonia resident, was a teacher, principal and coach in the Ansonia School System for 40 years before retiring in 1999 to Stuart, FL. He will be remembered not only for his genuine interest in all people, his love of traveling and the arts, but for his quick wit, generosity and thoughtfulness. Peter will be deeply missed by his wife, Cheryl, and all who knew him.
