Stephen E. Dripchak, age 101, of Derby entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Shelton Lakes with his loving family by his side.

He was the devoted husband of the late Helen (Pczonka) Dripchak. Stephen was born in Seymour on July 12, 1924, son of the late Michael and Rosalie (Barna) Dripchak and was a Derby resident since 1949.

He was an auditor for Continental Insurance Company for 24 years until his retirement in 1986. Stephen was the trustee and financial advisor to St. Michael’s Church and was honored by the Archdiocese in 2007 as the recipient of the St. Joseph Archdiocesan Medal of Appreciation in recognition of his dedicated service to the parish throughout the years. In addition, he was a former officer and long time member of the Russian-American Club in Seymour.

He was an active traveler in his retirement visiting Europe several times and every state within the United States except two. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed deep sea fishing as well as fishing in local rivers and streams. He always traveled with his fishing pole and gear in his car.

Stephen was the beloved father of David of Shelton, Ct. and his wife Susan and Stephen Jr of Summit, New Jersey and his wife Kimberly, loving grandfather of Heather, DJ, Eric, Alex, Stephen, Cody, Emily, Allison, Natalie, Melanie and Kyle and great grandfather of 8 great grandchildren. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Stephen was predeceased by his daughter Pamela, his three brothers, John, Peter and Paul Dripchak and a sister Eva Belinsky.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church. His burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
