SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Dec. 1, 2025 through Dec. 7, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try our best to track the case until resolution.

Seymour police received 255 calls for service and made four arrests between Dec. 1, 2025 and Dec. 7, 2025.

DEC. 1, 2025

9:13 a.m. A Roosevelt Drive resident told police she received a threatening letter. The resident later told police there were no issues because the letter was sent as a prank by her sister.

3:36 p.m. A caller told police that he may have photos of vandalism that took place at a Main Street business.  

9:45 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on West Church Street. No injuries were reported.

9:50 p.m. A Housatonic Terrace resident told police his mother was intoxicated and was trying to assault him.

DEC. 2, 2025

6:58 a.m. A caller told police she hit a deer on Squantuck Road.

10:40 a.m. A Smith Street resident told police he has not been receiving his packages from Amazon and believes they’re being stolen.

12:10 p.m. Police charged a 22-year-old Seymour woman with cruelty to animals and conspiracy to commit cruelty to animals.

3:41 p.m. Police charged a 55-year-old Oxford man with second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny.

4:53 p.m. A caller told police the traffic signal at Wakeley and Bank streets was not working properly, and he was concerned that people were running the light and potentially going to cause an accident. An officer checked the light and said it was functioning properly.

6 p.m. Police charged a 26-year-old Seymour man with cruelty to animals and conspiracy to commit cruelty to animals.

DEC. 3, 2025  

1:20 a.m. Police responded to a verbal dispute at a residence on Mountain Road. A resident told police her uncle was playing Christmas music.

7:55 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on South Main Street.

8:22 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Maple Street and Haddad Road.

5:35 p.m. A Chamberlin Road resident told police her daughter was receiving harassing text messages from a middle school student.

8:48 p.m. A Davis Road resident told police a suspicious vehicle pulled into her driveway and had no license plate. The resident called police back after realizing it was a delivery driver dropping something off at the residence.

DEC. 4, 2025

11:46 a.m. Police responded to a report of road rage between two people on Bungay Road.

1:04 p.m. A Great Hill Road resident told police they caught an injured opossum. Police notified the animal control officer.

1:16 p.m. A Country Club Road resident told police that someone hacked his bank account and stole more than $1,500.

1:58 p.m. A caller told police someone in a black Subaru was parked on DeForest Street and was acting suspiciously. Police said they were unable to locate the individual.

4:58 p.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Church Street.

6:51 p.m. Police were called to a medical emergency at a residence on Seymour Avenue.

DEC. 5, 2025

9:25 a.m. Police conducted radar enforcement on Great Hill Road.

2:22 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident at Botsford and Brookfield roads.

4:30 p.m. Police received a 9-11 hang-up call from Sanford Street but confirmed it was accidental due to a child playing with the phone.

6:29 p.m. A Balance Rock resident told police he was having issues over parking with his neighbor.

9:01 p.m. A Rimmondale Street resident told police her cat’s paw was stuck under the dishwasher and requested help from the fire department. The resident called back, saying the cat’s paw was no longer stuck.

DEC. 6, 2025

9:24 a.m. A caller told police someone working at Shady Knoll healthcare facility on Skokorat Street stole money from him.

12:47 p.m. Police were called to the Klarides Village parking lot on Bank Street for a verbal dispute between a man and a woman.

7:21 p.m. Police assisted a driver on Mountain Road with a disabled vehicle.

9:31 p.m. A caller told police she was afraid to walk to her car at the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street because a white van pulled into the parking lot and seemed suspicious. An officer said the individual in the van was a town employee and there were no issues.

DEC. 7, 2025

1:29 a.m. A Botsford Road resident told police there was a suspicious car parked outside her house that was flashing its lights. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.

9:02 a.m. Police responded to a report of an untimely death at a residence on Emma Street.

2:11 p.m. A Hill Street resident told police a neighbor was playing loud, vulgar music since 9 a.m.

4:19 p.m. Police set up radar enforcement for about 20 minutes on Bungay Road. No motor vehicle stops were made.

9:58 p.m. A Garden Street resident told police someone was pacing up and down the road for more than an hour and was concerned about the individual. Police said the individual was gone upon their arrival.
