ANSONIA – The Ansonia Fire Department received a $1,000 check toward a new rescue boat Wednesday (Dec. 10).
The contribution comes from the Regional Water Authority (RWA), additionally supported by the Valley Community Foundation and the City of Ansonia, according to a Facebook post from the department.
RWA originally announced the award in October. Ansonia is one of 15 departments across southern Connecticut to receive a $1,000 check.
The Seymour Fire Department also received a donation, to go toward respiratory monitoring equipment and a defibrillator training unit.
