Anna M. DiLisio, age 91, a lifelong resident of Derby, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 18, 2025, at Masonicare at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmen C. DiLisio Jr.
Anna was born in Derby on March 10, 1934, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Angela (LaVorgna) Celello. She was devoted to being the “best” mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Anna loved to cook and bake for her family and each Sunday everyone was invited for her “Sunday Sauce” pasta dinner. Her favorite pastime was trying her luck at the casino’s often visiting Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Derby. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff at Masonicare at Bishop Wicke Health Center for their wonderful care.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Carmen C. DiLisio III (Terri) of Little River, SC, daughters, Deborah Ruderman of Shelton, Laura Harris (William) of Southbury, Marianne Samokar of Derby and Ann Marie Gould (Edwin) of AZ, grandchildren, Nicholas DiLisio, Monica DiLisio, Stephanie Fernandez (Dennis), Stanley Samokar, Darlene Koosa (Michael), Lorraine Sweirbitowicz (Ronald) and Jeffery Harris (Jessica), great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brianna Fernandez, Michael, Gabriel, and Deirdre Koosa, Audrey, Joseph, and Grace Sweirbitowicz, and Kaylan and Alanna Harris, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dominick Celello and sisters, Philomena Cacchillo, Antoinette Ptak, and Vincenza Gabriel.
Visiting will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 8:30 am until 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:00 am, the procession will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
