Anna Mae Pertoso, age 94, entered into eternal rest on Christmas Day at Yale New Haven Hospital after a short illness.  She was born at home in Ansonia to the late Thomas and Eva (Wanciak) Comcowich.  She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Pertoso, Sr.  A lifelong Ansonia resident, Anna Mae was a retired State of Connecticut employee.

She graduated from Ansonia High School where she played softball.  She continued her education at Bullard-Havens Technical School in Bridgeport concentrating on fashion design and sewing.  Anna Mae was an avid reader, highly skilled seamstress, enjoyed dining at the Valley Diner and attending the monthly Food for the Soul lunches at Our Lady of the Valley Church (Holy Rosary). 

Anna Mae is survived by her beloved children – Joanne (Michael) Czeczot, Janet Ivaldi, Joseph A. Pertoso, Jr, and Jennifer (Kenneth) Caron.  She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Julian, Josephine, and Gabriella.  She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Moore and brother, Thomas Comcowich. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive, Ansonia at a date and time to be announced.  Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of the arrangements.
