Sabrina Marie “Uncle Brina” Starkey, age 43, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on December 28, 2025, from injuries sustained in a tragic hit and run motor vehicle accident in Waterbury.

Born in Bridgeport on July 15, 1982, she is was the daughter of Sharron DeChamps of Naugatuck and the late Donald Starkey. Sabrina was employed in the food service industry for many years. She was kind, caring and consistently willing to help others less fortunate. Sabrina was also extremely independent with a profound sense of humor always laughing and joking with others. Above all, family was most important to Sabrina. She loved to spend quality time with them, especially her grandsons. She would never be without her loving grandson Baby Ty. Her favorite hobby was listening to R&B music, especially Mary J. Blige. She will be lovingly missed.

In addition to her mother, Sharron, Sabrina leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Faith DeScheen of Waterbury, brothers, Khalil “Deejay” Alamin of Naugatuck, Jason Lisko of Naugatuck, Joshua Everlith (Jamie) of Oxford, Dwight Everlith Jr. (Lynne) of Monroe and Jeremy Everlith (Jodi) of Monroe, sisters, Tasha Starkey of Naugatuck, Dawn Gonzales (Tony) of Florida and Sherry Signore (Joseph) of Naugatuck, grandsons, Tyrek Lindsay Jr., Legend Lindsay and soon to be granddaughter. She will lovingly be remembered by nieces, Sarah-Marie Pate, Angel Freeman “Bestie” and Ricki Freeman along with several great nieces, great nephews, and countless friends.

Relatives and friends may greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Burial will be private. Contributions in Sabrina’s memory, may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
