Seymour Police Blotter Jan. 4, 2026 – Jan. 11, 2026

SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Jan. 4, 2026 through Jan. 11, 2026.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Seymour police received 261 calls for service and made 11 arrests between Jan. 4, 2026 and Jan. 11, 2026.

JAN. 4, 2026

3 a.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

7:14 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Bank Street and Old Drive. No injuries were reported.

11:59 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver at the intersection of Maple and Pearl streets.

1:08 p.m. Police were called to a medical emergency at a residence on DeForest Street.

JAN. 5. 2026

2:28 a.m. A resident told police a man dressed in black and carrying a cane was walking and out of the road near Spruce and Garden streets and believed he was hitting and damaging vehicles. An officer was able to locate the man who said he was out walking for exercise.

7:20 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road and Church Street.

10:52 a.m. A Daisy Drive resident reported that his license plate was lost or stolen.

1:13 p.m. A Bungay Road resident told police his vehicle was stolen by his girlfriend, who said she would not give him the vehicle back. An officer said the vehicle was registered under the girlfriend’s name and determined there was no theft.  

8:20 p.m. Police conducted traffic control on Great Hill Road and issued one infraction to a driver.

JAN. 6, 2026  

8:55 a.m. Customers and staff at the Seymour/Ansonia Animal Hospital on South Main Street complained to police about loud music coming from the business next door.

8:59 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Bungay Road.

3:26 p.m. A caller told police a tractor trailer was stuck under the trestle on Main Street. An officer said the truck was gone upon their arrival.

JAN. 7, 2026

4:05 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and Broad streets.

8 a.m. Police charged a 59-year-old Seymour woman with conspiracy to commit arson and disorderly conduct.

9:46 a.m. An employee at Shady Knoll healthcare facility on Skokorat Street called police about a combative patient.

2:52 p.m. A resident told police someone stole his Xfinity account.

9:40 p.m. Police charged Leland Feng, 53, of Seymour, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

JAN. 8, 2026

4:06 a.m. A South Main Street resident told police there was a loud person or animal outside her house. An officer checked the area and said they found nothing suspicious.

7:44 a.m. Police were called to a medical emergency at a residence on Woodside Avenue.

9:19 a.m. Police issued a misdemeanor to a driver Derby Avenue.

2:07 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near the post office on Main Street.

9 p.m. Police charged a 36-year-old Ansonia man with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault.

JAN. 9, 2026

8:18 a.m. A caller reported a black Honda was driving erratically and throwing trash out the window on New Haven Road (Route 67).

9:32 a.m. An officer noticed an open front door at a residence on Botsford Road and contacted the homeowner. The officer said the home was secured, and there were no issues.

12:42 A resident told police her catalytic converter was cut from her vehicle by a mechanic.

6:46 p.m. A Balance Rock Road resident told police that a tenant was playing loud music and when he knocked on the door, the tenant turned the music up louder. Police said there was no music coming from the apartment.  

JAN. 10, 2026

10:22 a.m. A caller told police there was a disabled vehicle at the intersection of Maple and South Main streets.

6:19 p.m. A caller told police a man holding an umbrella was jumping in front of cars on Roosevelt Drive. An officer located the man and issued him a warning to stay out of the road.  

JAN. 11, 2026

12:50 a.m. Police conducted traffic light enforcement on Maple Street. No violations were observed.

8:23 a.m. A caller told police there was a German Shepherd on the roof of a Balance Rock Road residence. The fire department was able to get the dog off the roof and the owner was on scene.

12:19 p.m. A Balance Rock Road resident told police she sold a gaming console to an individual who continued to call her and harass, saying the system was not working properly.

5:46 p.m. A School Street resident told police she believed there was a possible drug deal happening near her house. An officer checked the area and reported there was nothing suspicious going on.
