ANSONIA – Police arrested a man after allegedly finding more than 100 images of child pornography on his electronic devices.
Alexander Beardsley, 33, of Prospect, was arrested Monday (Jan. 19) and charged with possession of child sex abuse material.
According to police, officers began investigating Beardsley in 2024, when he was a resident of Ansonia. Over the course of that investigation, police seized computers, phones, and electronic storage devices from Beardsley.
Police allegedly discovered more than 100 images of child pornography across those devices and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Beardsley’s bond was set at $75,000. He was scheduled to be arraigned at Superior Court in Derby Tuesday (Jan. 20).
The Shelton Police Department and state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Digital Forensic Unit aided in the investigation, according to a statement from Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch.
