Gregory (Greg) K. Stevenson, 78, of Satsuma FL., passed away Dec. 4, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ann and a sister Mary Ellen, he will be greatly missed by his surviving sister Suzie of Seymour. Greg was always drawn to the water having been raised on the Housatonic River; Life was about boats, fishing and beer. (Over the years he resided in Derby, Oxford, Seymour and ‘Wholand’. Shelton, CT)

He was a former member of the Storm Engine Co. He enjoyed playing the lottery, UCONN basketball, gardening and was interested in the weather forecast and tracking storms. He had been self-employed, first operating Greg’s bait and tackle in Milford and also ran ‘The Landing’ hot dog stand also located in Milford on Gulf Beach. He was employed by Tele-Media cable as a maintenance man before his retirement.

Greg had many pets over the years including a monkey, cats and a couple of goats, but like the rest of the family, his heart always belonged to a dog. He had many over the years, his last a rescued West Highland Terrier Mawho, they were inseparable. When she passed, he said he prayed every night that Mawho and all the others would be waiting to greet him on his next journey.  At Greg’s request, there are no services. A special thank you to Lynda and Janet for your help. This spring, he will be reunited once again with the river he loved so much.

Donations in his memory may be made to an animal rescue charity of one’s choice.
