SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Feb. 8, 2026 through Feb. 15, 2026.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.
Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we try to track the case.
Seymour police received 225 calls for service and made five arrests between Feb. 8, 2026 and Feb. 15, 2026.
FEB. 8, 2026
11:35 a.m. Police received a 911 call from a woman who said a man was moving a dumpster and threatening her.
1:21 p.m. Police charged a 29-year-old Stamford woman with first-degree violation of conditions of release.
1:52 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Rimmon Street and Pershing Avenue.
8 p.m. Police charged a 39-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
11:58 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Hine Street for a medical emergency.
FEB. 9, 2026
7:54 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on Mountain Road. No injuries were reported.
11:12 a.m. Police conducted traffic control Church and West streets for about 30 minutes. No violations were observed.
6:32 p.m. A caller told police he saw a man in his 50s wearing dark clothing stumbling along the road on South Main Street, and appeared to have snow on him as if he’d fallen a few times. Police said the man was transported to the hospital.
FEB. 10, 2026
7:38 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Roosevelt Drive.
8:46 a.m. Monroe police alerted Seymour police about someone driving erratically into Seymour near Buckingham Road. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
4:05 p.m. A caller told police a flat bed truck was taking up multiple parking spaces downtown on Main Street and was parked there all day long. Police spoke with the truck driver and the vehicle was moved.
4:22 p.m. A caller told police two dogs were wandering around on Mountain Road and their owners appeared not to be home. Police said the dogs were gone upon their arrival.
8:39 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Skokorat Street for a medical emergency.
FEB. 11, 2026
1:38 p.m. Police received multiple complaints that the traffic light at Main and Bank streets was not working, and drivers weren’t stopping as a result. Temporary stop signs were placed at the intersection until the light could be fixed.
6:46 p.m. A Cedar Street resident told police she found a knife in her driveway.
7:45 p.m. A North Street resident told police his laundry was stolen from the laundromat in the Auto Zone Plaza. Police said a woman took the man’s laundry by mistake and it was returned.
8 p.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Bridgeport man with use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance-first offense.
FEB. 12. 2026
12:11 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on North Street.
5:48 p.m. A Johnson Avenue resident told police someone stole his recyclables.
6:53 p.m. An employee of a New Haven Road (Route 67) gas station asked police for assistance in obtaining insurance information from an individual who drove away with the gas nozzle still attached to the vehicle.
9:28 p.m. Police issued a parking ticket to an individual whose car was parked on a sidewalk on West Church Street.
FEB. 13, 2026
12:26 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Roosevelt Drive and Great Hill Road.
5 p.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Norwich woman with third-degree larceny, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree assault.
5:22 p.m. A South Main Street resident told police her neighbor threatened her.
5:24 p.m. A Bungay Road resident told police someone stole the license plate off his car.
8:31 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Reservoir Manor for a medical emergency.
FEB. 14, 2026
12:15 p.m. Police charged a 33-year-old Seymour man with sixth-degree larceny.
5:55 p.m. A Maple Street resident told police a black pick-up truck with a plow attached was sticking out into the road near Pearl Street. Police said the truck was gone upon their arrival.
8:03 p.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Bank Street.
9:58 p.m. A caller told police she was waiting at the train station downtown on Main Street and saw a pink and red blanket or bag on a bench and believed it could be a person sleeping. An officer checked it out and said it was a Halloween decoration.
FEB. 15, 2026
9:01 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Maple Street and Warren Drive for about 30 minutes and made one motor vehicle stop.
9:57 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on West Street.
11:14 p.m. A Falbo Drive resident told police a suspicious pick-up truck was driving back and forth in her neighborhood. Police said the truck was gone upon their arrival.
11:43 p.m. Oxford police called Seymour police for assistance with a traffic stop.
