Alice (Matthews) Towne, age 90 of Thomaston and previously of Clinton, beloved wife of the late Howard Towne, Sr., entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in Village Crest Healthcare of New Milford. Born in Athol, MA, on November 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Thompson) Matthews.
A retired secretary and previous employee of Griffin Hospital, Alice was a hard working woman and dedicated mother of 10 children. She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed country music, especially Conway Twitty. Alice also loved birds, pictures of angels, and was an avid shopper, especially adding to her wardrobe.
Survivors include her loving children, Juanita Keroski and her husband Thomas of Thomaston, David Towne of Seymour, Kevin Towne of Bethany, and William Towne of Cromwell; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Howard, Alice was predeceased by her children, Howard Towne, Jr., Donald Towne, Cheryl Towne Brooks, Kenneth Towne, Dale Towne, and Darryl Towne.
