Florence Ford, a 104-year-old Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest Feb. 22, 2026. She was born Jan. 15, 1922, to the late Irving Austin Sr. and Mabel Austin. Florence worked as a pediatric nurse for Griffin Hospital in Derby.
She leaves to cherish her memory son Dean Ford of Ansonia, three daughters Sharon Clark of Atlanta, Georgia, Deidre Pender (Lenny) of Hamden Ct., Melissa Ward of Charlotte, N.C., 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild that will deeply carry her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry, sons, Gordon, Alan and Darrell, sisters Alcyne & Marcelle, brothers Irving Austin Jr., Warren and Richard Austin and four grandsons.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. from Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
