Patricia C. Gerckens, age 60, of Derby, peacefully entered into rest on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in her home with her loving family by her side. Patty was born in Bridgeport on April 22, 1965, daughter of Patricia (McGonigle) Gerckens and the late Arthur C. Gerckens, Jr and was a lifelong resident of Derby.
She earned her Nursing Degree from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Patricia worked at St. Raphael’s Hospital for many years, and recently worked at New Haven Home Dialysis.
Patricia loved to travel. Even more, she loved to spoil her nieces, who were the light of her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Arthur Gerckens (Patsy) and Kevin Gerckens, and her five cherished nieces, Ashley, Brittany, Sara, Kaitlyn, and Jessica. She also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and her godson Louis Duh. Patricia was predeceased by a brother, David Gerckens.
Friends are invited to greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. Her funeral service will begin in the Parlor at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
