Leona (Kennedy) Harvie, age 79, entered eternal rest on March 5, 2026, at her home in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Royal T. Harvie.

Born in Derby on September 15, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Leon G. Kennedy and Carmela (Persico) Kennedy. Leona lived most of her life in Ansonia before moving to Derby for the last decade. For many years, she was employed at Easter Seals in New Haven and retired from Residential Management Services in Shelton. Leona was a dedicated mother and grandmother who treasured family above all else. She loved spending time together and making lasting memories. Leona enjoyed playing cards with her friends and found joy and peace in crocheting. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles and a good game of bingo. She will be lovingly missed by all.

Leona leaves to cherish her memory, son, Brent W. Harvie of Dallas, TX, daughter, Michelle L. Hendricks (Fran) of Stratford, sister, Jacqueline Rimiller of New York, grandchildren, Victoria J. Hendricks, Trevor D. Hendricks (Bianca), Caleb R. Harvie, Naomi M. Harvie and Korah E. Harvie, great-grandsons, Romeo, and Rowan along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Leon Kennedy Jr. and sisters, Judith Verrilli, Patricia Wright, Linda Kennedy, Lillian Quedenfeldt and Mary D’Agostino.
