Joseph A. Downs Jr., age 46, entered eternal rest on March 12, 2026, at his home in Naugatuck. He was the loving husband of Marci (Rondini) Downs.
Born in Bridgeport on January 6, 1980, he was the son of Joseph A. Downs Sr. of Bridgeport and Lewann (Taylor) Haight and her husband Bryan of Bridgeport. Joe was raised in Seymour, a graduate of Seymour High School Class of 1998, and currently resided in Naugatuck. He was employed as an independent Insurance Appraiser. Joe was a gentle soul with a huge heart always willing to help others and spread kindness to everyone. He was a bit of a car enthusiast with an affinity for fast cars. Joe had a big sweet tooth and you never saw him without a can of Red Bull in his hand. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls.
In addition to his wife Marci and his parents Joseph and Lewann, Joe leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Nathan Downs of Beacon Falls and Ricardo Lopez of Naugatuck, daughters, Taylor Marie Downs of Oxford, Isabella Downs of Beacon Falls, Milena Lopez of Naugatuck and Samara Lopez of Naugatuck, sisters, Nicole Downs of Ansonia and Alyssa Downs of West Haven, paternal grandmother, Irene Downs of Bridgeport, step-mother, Michele Downs of Derby along with many aunts, uncles and numerous friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026, all are welcome to attend his graveside service meeting directly at 12:00 pm at Grove Cemetery, 1 Cross Street in Naugatuck.
