SEYMOUR – Here are highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from March 9, 2026 through March 15, 2026.
Seymour police received 168 calls for service and made 11 arrests.
MARCH 9, 2026
12:45 a.m. Police issued a misdemeanor to a driver on Garden Street.
8:20 a.m. An individual told police they found a bracelet in the Seybridge Plaza parking lot on New Haven Road (Route 67).
1:05 p.m. A Walnut Street resident told police he hired a contractor to do work around his home. The resident told police a boiler wasn’t installed correctly and said it wasn’t safe to operate. The resident said he was out $5,000 for the job.
4:21 p.m. A resident told police a white husky dog was roaming around Pearl Street.
7:20 p.m. Police charged a 36-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct.
MARCH 10, 2026
1:37 a.m. Police charged Alexander Merithew, 25, of Seymour with driving under the influence.
3:45 a.m. Police were called to an apartment complex on Reservoir Manor for a medical emergency.
7:32 a.m. A Pearl Street resident told police someone stole some items from his car overnight.
9:07 a.m. A Pearl Street resident told police someone tried to hot wire his car, causing damage to the steering column.
1 p.m. Police charged a 49-year-old Derby man with violation of probation.
5:50 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Bungay Road and Derby Avenue where the driver struck a Frontier pole.
MARCH 11, 2026
11:19 a.m. A caller told police her Ring cameras were disconnected and requested police check her house to make sure nothing was tampered with by her ex-husband. An officer said the home was undisturbed.
1:10 p.m. Police charged a 22-year-old New Haven woman with risk of injury to a child.
2:28 p.m. A driver told police she struck a pothole while driving along Bungay and West Church streets and her tire was damaged.
8:45 p.m. Police charged a 38-year-old Stratford man with disorderly conduct, violation of a protective order and third-degree assault.
9:27 p.m. Police charged Jayne Fifer, 67, of Shelton, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, possession of a controlled substance first offense and failure to keep a narcotic in its original container.
MARCH 12, 2026
5:25 a.m. Police charged a 52-year-old Seymour woman with criminal attempt, assault of public safety, emergency medical or public transit personnel, disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening and first-degree assault.
5:25 a.m. A Hill Street resident told police someone in the area left their dog outside all night and the dog was continuously barking. Police checked the area and said they heard no barking.
1:20 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Progress Avenue.
5:24 p.m. A resident told police she lost her medication but was unsure where she lost the pills.
MARCH 13, 2026
12:53 a.m. Police were called to an apartment on South Main Street where two people were involved in a verbal dispute.
8:52 a.m. A Maple Street resident reported a case of fraud to police.
11:24 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on Great Hill Road.
12:48 p.m. A school bus driver told police a parent was following the school bus to retrieve their child’s cell phone that was left on the bus. An officer met both the bus driver and the parent at the bus yard where the parent retrieved the phone with no issues.
MARCH 14, 2026
1:09 p.m. A Washington Avenue resident told police a tree fell on her house, and it may have been on town property.
5:10 p.m. A Tomlinson Road resident told police a check he mailed for a credit card payment was intercepted and cashed under a different name.
8:42 p.m. Police charged Jared Parker, 45, of Waterbury, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
MARCH 15, 2026
1:05 a.m. Police charged Peter Noga, 41, of Seymour, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to obey a stop sign.
1:30 a.m. Police charged Esteban Sequera, 53, of Beacon Falls, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
5:53 p.m. Police received a 911 hang-up call from Birchwood Road. The resident told police her smart watch accidentally dialed 911. Police confirmed it was a misdial and said there were no issues.
11:38 p.m. Police were called to a business on Bank Street for a report of an alarm sounding at the front door. An officer said a door was open, and he secured the door and said there were no issues.
