Richard S. Lenart, age 72, of Seymour entered into rest on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at CT Hospice in Branford with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Derby on June 4, 1953 son of the late Joseph John and Genevieve (Siemienczuk) Lenart.
Towards the end of his career he worked at Roebic Inc. in Orange and GlenRo Spirit Shoppe, Seymour. When he was younger, Rich, or “Rog” as he was known to many friends, enjoyed bartending, photography and wedding videography on the side. He enjoyed sketching, camping, fishing and was a car racing enthusiast. Rich loved the hot weather and long walks on the Derby Greenway. His sisters always counted on him to care for their family dogs when they traveled. Most of all, Rich cherished spending time with friends and family.
He was the beloved brother of Susan Lenart Hemstock and her husband Jay, Ann Marie C. Lenart, Joan Lenart, and Kathleen Lenart, and loving uncle of Courtney Hemstock Mosman and her husband Kevin, and Aubrey Jean Lenart Carroll.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful doctors, medical staff and support teams who cared for Rich, especially those at the offices of Dr. Michael Cohenuram, Dr. Joyce Chung, Dr. Roman Spivak, and Dr. Richard Salzano. The family also thanks Rich’s close and lifelong friends, in particular Nick and Bonnie Owen, Bruce and Chris Thayer, and Charlie Martinek, who lent an ear or a hand to Rich whenever he needed it.
On Friday, March 27th, friends may call from 4:30 to 6:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. His funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Hospital Development Fund Center for Cancer Care or Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven.
