SEYMOUR – Here are highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from March 23, 2026 through March 29, 2026.
Seymour police received 198 calls for service and made nine arrests between March 23, 2026 and March 29, 2026.
MARCH 23, 2026
12:50 a.m. Police charged Paul Norris, 42, of Seymour, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
8:41 a.m. An All-Star school bus driver told police a raccoon popped out from under the dashboard of the bus while the bus was traveling down Pearl Street. Animal control was notified to assist and removed the raccoon from the bus. There was no word on whether students were on the bus.
2:50 p.m. Police were called to Seymour High School on Botsford Road for a report of two people riding ATVs on the softball field and through the parking lots. The ATVs were gone upon police arrival. Police said there was no property damage.
MARCH 24, 2026
2:22 a.m. Police charged Kyle Garnett, 39, of West Haven, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and traveling unreasonably fast.
11:13 a.m. Police charged Jerriot L. Jones, 53, of Brooklyn, Conn., with second-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and threatening.
11:34 a.m. An employee of Newport Healthcare on Roosevelt Drive called police after a female patient ran away from the facility. The patient was located and taken to Griffin Hospital.
12:50 p.m. A resident told police she received a death threat in her mailbox.
5:26 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Botsford Road and observed no violations.
MARCH 25, 2026
12:03 p.m. A Stanley Drive resident told police someone stole the front license plate off his vehicle.
6:54 p.m. A caller told police someone driving a blue Volvo sedan was driving erratically around Sachem Road. Police said the car was gone upon their arrival.
7:19 p.m. Police charged Tanya Lisej, 37, of Shelton, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
8:46 p.m. A Beecher Place resident told police his daughter was banging on his front door and refused to leave.
MARCH 26, 2026
7:38 a.m. A Southwest Road resident told police a large blue work van was parked in her driveway. Police said the men ran out of gas and left once they were able to get gas and fill their tires with air.
11:50 a.m. An employee from Henny Penny gas station told police someone drove off with the gas pump still attached to their car.
3:21 p.m. A caller told police there were several juveniles riding ATVs in the road near Good Shepherd Church near Ross Drive and Mountain Road. An officer located the riders on Mountain Road and issued them a verbal warning for riding on a public street.
10:50 p.m. Police charged a Kareem Antrum, 49, of Seymour, with second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
MARCH 27, 2026
10:14 a.m. A caller asked police to do a welfare check on his ex-wife after she failed to show up for a court hearing. An officer said he checked on the woman and there were no issues.
2:10 p.m. A North Street resident told police his car was vandalized overnight.
4:23 p.m. A West Church Street resident told police he was the victim of fraud.
MARCH 28, 2026
1:57 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver at the intersection of Maple Street and Washington Avenue.
3:18 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Bank Street.
9:52 p.m. Police were asked to do a welfare check on a Smith Street resident by a friend who hadn’t heard from the man in a while. Police said there were no issues.
10:03 p.m. Police were called to Newport Healthcare on Roosevelt Drive for a medical emergency.
MARCH 29, 2026
1 a.m. Police charged a 40-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct.
2:25 a.m. A Walter Road resident said a dog was barking in the area and she was concerned something was wrong. Police said there was a fox in the area which likely caused the dog to bark and said there were no further issues.
2:58 a.m. Police charged Carlos Soler-Bernier, 38, of Fairfield, with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and making an improper turn.
4:23 a.m. A Nichols Street resident reported that her car was stolen.
7:41 a.m. A South Main Street resident told police he believed someone broke into his car overnight and the front door handle was broken off.
1:36 p.m. A caller told police four youths in a small gray car were driving at a high rate of speed near Mountain Road and threw a water bottle at the front grill of his car, causing damage.
