Sylvia Saldamarco, age 91, of Derby, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Benchmark at Split Rock in Shelton. Sylvia was born in Derby on October 15, 1934, daughter of Salvatore and Matilda (Boni) Saldamarco, and was a lifelong Derby resident.
She spent her career working in healthcare as a Registered Nurse. Sylvia enjoyed a large social circle and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to explore and traveled frequently.
She is survived by a brother, Louis Saldamarco, treasured nieces and nephews Thomas Saldamarco (Dana), Dr. Susan Buchek (Joseph), and Gina Soldra (Keith), and great nephews and nieces Joey and Sam Bucheck and AJ and Sophia Soldra. She is also survived by her dear friends, Emmy and John Cavagnuolo. Sylvia was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Saldamarco, a nephew, Daniel Saldamarco, and her beloved dogs, Jessie and Molly.

Friends may join the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM. On Tuesday her procession will leave the parlor at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby.
