DERBY — Last year the City of Derby unearthed the Tercentenary Time Capsule. For Derby’s 300th Anniversary, residents put mementos in the capsule for us to open and recover. Though water got into the time capsule Derby Public Library and our history team led by Christine Boulay salvaged what they could. The items that survived are now archived at Derby Public Library!
Derby Public Library is thrilled to announce our City of Derby Time Capsule Display in honor of the 350th anniversary this year, showcasing items and artifacts Derby residents donated in 1975 to be dug up 50 years later. The display will be up from May to June and features class rings, coins, plates, toys, and other Derby spirit paraphernalia. Stop by and see this bit of local history with your own eyes!
