SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from June 29, 2026 through July 5, 2026.

Seymour police received 227 calls for service and made eight arrests. The Valley Indy does not publish every call for service.

JUNE 29, 2026

7:47 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road.

12:20 p.m. A Bryson Avenue resident told police he was being blackmailed.

1:59 p.m. Police were called to Balance Rock apartments for a verbal dispute.

8:15 p.m. Police were called to Newport Healthcare on Roosevelt Drive for a medical emergency.

JUNE 30, 2026

9 a.m. Police charged a 35-year-old Milford man with violation of a protective order.

9:05 a.m. A Smith Street resident told police she was receiving threatening text messages and then found six slashes in one of her car’s tires.

2:20 p.m. Police were called to Main Street for a medical emergency.

2:42 p.m. Police were called to a business on North Main Street for an alarm sounding. An officer said there were no issues.

10:47 p.m. A caller told police several juveniles were impeding his vehicle and preventing him from leaving the parking lot at McDonald’s on Bank Street. An officer spoke with the juveniles who were instructed to leave.

JULY 1, 2026

6:35 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle at Rimmon and Clinton roads. Two individuals were transported to the hospital for injuries.

11:30 a.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Naugatuck man with second-degree larceny.

3:52 p.m. Police were called to Reservoir Manor apartments for a medical emergency.

6:19 p.m. A caller told police two juveniles were fighting in the parking lot of the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street.

8:24 p.m. Someone walked into the police department on Franklin Street and told police he found a wallet.

10:03 p.m. Police charged a 29-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening.

JULY 2, 2026

2:53 a.m. Police were called to a business on North Street for an alarm activation. An officer said it was a false alarm.

3:15 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Day Street.

6:02 p.m. A Potter Road resident told police several cars were parked in front of his house and several juveniles walked onto private property and went swimming in the nearby quarry. An officer said the juveniles were advised to leave.  

5:18 p.m. A West Street resident told police her vehicle was struck while she was at work.

7 p.m. Police charged a 64-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening.

JULY 3, 2026

1:58 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near the Wendy’s and Walgreens parking lots on Bank Street.

2:20 p.m. A resident reported she lost a diamond ring in the Klarides Village parking lot, possibly outside of Ocean State Job Lot.

6:19 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Brookfield Road.

8:16 p.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement on Mountain Road.

JULY 4, 2026

7:31 a.m. A caller told police a large tree limb fell near the rear gate entrance to the football field at Seymour High School on Botsford Road and appeared to pull down some wires. Police said Frontier was notified.

2:42 p.m. A caller told police he struck a deer on South Main Street.

5:15 p.m. Police charged a 42-year-old Seymour woman with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct.

7:05 p.m. A caller told police a large tree was blocking Haddad Road.

8:30 p.m. A Chamberlin Road resident reported loud fireworks were going off in the neighborhood.

9:05 p.m. Police charged a 35-year-old Seymour man with illegal possession of explosives and illegal sale of fireworks without a permit.

JULY 5, 2026

7:41 a.m. An Eleanor Road resident told police there was an injured or deceased fox or coyote in his yard. An officer said it was a dead fawn which was removed from the property.

9:42 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road.

11:14 a.m. A Skokorat Street resident told police a power line was on fire in the area. Police said the fire department was called but there was no fire.

5 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road (Route 67).

7:38 p.m. A DeForest Street resident told police someone was lighting sparklers in the parking lot and were dumping the spent containers in the dumpster. An officer said the fire department determined there was no fire hazard and no illegal fireworks were being used.
