SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from March 10, 2025 through March 16, 2025.

It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we track the case.

Seymour police received 173 calls for service and made three arrests between March 10, 2025 and March 16, 2025.

MARCH 10, 2025

11:39 a.m. A Pearl Street resident told police that a neighbor approached her while she was taking her dog out to do his business and threatened to harm her dog if she didn’t choose another location for the dog to use the bathroom.

4:42 p.m. Police charged a 43-year-old Seymour woman with disorderly conduct and second-degree unlawful restraint.

5:06 p.m. An employee from the state Department of Children and Families requested police assistance in checking in on a youth who cut off their GPS monitor.

8:11 p.m. Police were called to McDonalds on Bank Street for a fight between a group of teenagers in the back of the restaurant. The teenagers were gone before police arrived.

MARCH 11, 2025

8:46 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor, two-car crash at the parent drop-off location at Chatfield-LoPresti School on Skokorat Street. The parties involved told police they did not want to file a report and would handle the incident themselves.

8:55 a.m. A caller reported that a large metal crate was sticking out into the road on Cogwheel Lane, near the corner of New Haven Road (Route 67). Police removed the item, which was believed to be part of a landscape trailer.

11:04 a.m. Police were notified about low-hanging wires on Charles Road.

5:37 p.m. Police received a walk-in report from an individual who found a key in the middle of Spruce Street, possibly belonging to an older Chevy.

MARCH 12, 2025

8:24 a.m. Police were called to assist with a medical emergency at a residence on Bungay Road.

11:18 a.m. Police charged a 22-year-old Bridgeport man with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and illegal sale/purchase of a large capacity magazine.

11 p.m. Police charged a 39-year-old Derby man with illegally operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate/license/registration, illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension and engaging police in pursuit.

12:47 p.m. A walk-in complaint was received from an Elmwood Drive resident who told police that someone on eBay stole one of his items by returning another item instead.

2:45 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor motor vehicle accident in front of CVS at Bank and West streets.

MARCH 13, 2025

12:59 p.m. A caller reported to police that a box truck was blocking the road at First and Bank streets for 15 minutes.

1:37 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at New Haven Road/Roberts Street.

6:20 p.m. Police received a complaint about a delivery driver that had been bitten by a dog on Kathy Drive.

7:06 p.m. A resident reported a car was driving erratically and heading toward Moss Avenue. The car was gone upon police arrival.

MARCH 14, 2025

2:45 p.m. Police received a request for assistance from Shelton Police about a stolen vehicle from Shelton that was seen heading toward Bank Street in Seymour.

3:35 p.m. Police were called to Stop & Shop on Franklin Street about a female lying on the floor, who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

4:11 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident who said she was being harassed over Snapchat by someone who is requesting money.

5:41 p.m. A Molsick Road resident told police she found a Narcan kit on her front lawn after an ambulance responded to an emergency call in the neighborhood the day before. The item was taken to Seymour Ambulance for disposal.

MARCH 15, 2025

5:11 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Mountain Road.

5:26 p.m. Police conducted a building safety check at Seymour High School on Botsford Road.

7:50 p.m. A caller reported he saw three kids on bicycles and scooters riding in the middle of the road on Route 67 and were last seen heading in the direction of Henny Penny gas station. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the kids.

10:21 p.m. A resident complained to police that his neighbor on South Benham Road has her dogs outside and they are barking. Police made contact with the owner, who took the dogs in for the night.

MARCH 16, 2025

12:59 a.m. Police received a request for assistance from a CT Transit Bus driver about an unresponsive passenger. The passenger refused medical treatment.

3:01 a.m. Police received a request for assistance from Woodbridge Police to check the Rimmon Road/Clinton Road area for a man wearing jeans, white sneakers and no shirt. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the man.

3:36 p.m. A Mead Farm Road resident reported to police that a dirt bike was stolen from his garage at 3 a.m. and the homeowner’s Ring video camera captured two males entering the garage.

6:16 p.m. Police received a noise complaint from a Maple Street resident who said he heard about 20-30 rounds of gun fire in the area. Police located the resident who was target shooting on his own private property and had permission to do so. Police told the resident to notify police in advance of future target shooting to prevent another police response.

11:43 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Maple and Pearl streets.
