The Seymour budget is going to voters for a second time Tuesday (May 10).

Polls at the Pine Street Community Center are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Valley Indy will post the results as soon as we receive them.

Voters rejected the school and town budgets at a referendum held April 26.

The town’s Board of Finance then trimmed the budget by about $190,000.

The town’s notice about the budget is posted below.

If approved by voters, the new mill rate will be 27.64.

If approved, taxes on a property assessed at $200,000 will pay an additional $175 in taxes next year.

The town’s referendum notice is posted below.

  1. BOE Budget – Vote YES
    Town Budget – Vote NO

How can you justify an 8% increase in the Police budget, with a 67% increase for overtime?
5% for the Town and 2.4% for Education. How about a new contract for Town Hall with NO LAYOFFS guaranteed? And soon they will be talking up a $1.6 million dollar Capital Plan. Wake up voters cause these people don’t have a clue except to increase your taxes.
