OXFORD — The state is offering two rewards up to $50,000 each for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever is responsible for murdering two men found dead in Oxford in 2024.

Carlos Omar Calderon and David Rivera were found in a burning car on Roosevelt Drive near the Stevenson Dam on May 30, 2024.

A press conference organized by police and the region’s top prosecutor was held in Rocky Hill Sept. 30 to ask for the public’s help in the case.

“Despite diligent investigative efforts by the Connecticut State Police, the murders of Mr. Rivera and Mr. Calderon remain unsolved. In the hope of continuing to move this investigation forward, Gov. Ned Lamont has authorized two rewards not exceeding the amount of $50,000 in each case to any individual providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of their killer or killers,”  the state’s Division of Criminal Justice said in a prepared statement.

Anyone with information should call state police Detective Kevin Roberts at 203 267 2200, extension 2227, or email Kevin.Roberts2@ct.gov.

“We urge anyone with information – no matter how insignificant it may seem – to come forward. This reward reflects the seriousness of this case and our determination to hold those responsible accountable for their actions,” said Margaret E. Kelley, the state’s attorney for the Ansonia-Milford Judicial District.

Members of the Rivera family, including his mother, spoke at the press conference urging the public to help, according to NBC Connecticut.
