SEYMOUR — Police said one person is dead after a motor vehicle crash on Roosevelt Drive Thursday.
“We are currently at a two car, head-on collision on Roosevelt Drive. One driver is deceased,” Seymour Police Department Deputy Chief Michael Fappiano said in a message at 5:08 p.m. “The second was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
The deputy police chief said state police are helping with the investigation.
Roosevelt Drive, also known as state Route 34, is expected to be closed for an extended period during the investigation.

The crash happened near the intersection of Maiden Lane at about 3:30 p.m.
