The Derby-Shelton Rotary Pinning Ceremony was held on Thursday, January 29th, at the Courtyard by Marriott, located on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton, CT. This special event honored the officers of the newly formed Derby High School Interact Club, celebrating their dedication to leadership and service and our club advisors, Mrs. Carlin Ali and Ms. Jennifer Moffat.
During the ceremony, the following students were recognized for their new leadership roles and presented pins during the ceremony:
- President: Breanna Perez (’26)
- Vice President: Sophie Mraz (’26)
- Secretary: Gabe Tovar (’27) & Jayson Drayton (’27)
- Treasurer: Ava Umpierre (’27)
Also, Shirley Diglio-Guerrette (’27) and Jayson Drayton were recognized and shared reflections on their experience participating in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Conference this fall, highlighting the leadership skills they developed, the connections they made, and how the experience positively impacted their personal growth and confidence.
