Elizabeth Dahn, wife of the late Carl Dahn passed away peacefully on Sunday Feb 1, 2026 at Griffin Hospital after a long illness. She was 89 years old.
Born on November 22, 1936 in Waterbury, Betty was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Taylor) Fetyko. A longtime resident of Seymour, when she wasn’t out shopping or dining at Fritz’s you could find her enjoying her many hobbies. She enjoyed reading and had quite a large collection of books and once said she wished she could take her books to heaven with her. She also made many quilts for family and doll dresses for her granddaughters.
Betty was also an avid painter up until her passing and gave many of her paintings away to family. She loved to be around family and friends and often went out with her childhood friends from grammar school known as Teabags. Betty also loved her three cats.
Betty was married to Carl Dahn 59 years before his passing and leaves her family to cherish her memory, daughter Kit (Robert) Aleksiewicz, son Joseph (Kerrie) Dahn, son Lance Dahn, brother Steven (Patricia) Fetyko, daughter in law Joann Dahn, and son in law Donald Matejek, also 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her daughter Lisa, son Carl Dahn III, grandson Carl Dahn IV, foster son Gordon Richmond, great granddaughter Chloe and brother Joseph P. Fetyko.
A private visitation will be held followed by a public funeral mass held on Wednesday Feb 11, 2026 (Directly) at 11:00am at Church of Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd, Seymour, Ct., a spring burial at Jack’s Hill Cemetery, Oxford. Memorial donations in Betty’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
