Linda Ann Shepard, age 76, of Shelton, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 23, 2026, in her home. She was the devoted wife of Daniel J. Shepard for over 50 years. Linda was born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1949, daughter of the late Norbert and Mary E. Simon. After living in Fairfield, she moved to Shelton where she resided for 43 years.

Linda graduated from Andrew Warde high school in 1967. Since she was a little girl, Linda always wanted to be a nurse, so after high school, she attended St Vincent’s School of Nursing and received her RN degree. It became her professional calling, and she served forty five years as a nurse at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Most of her nursing career was spent on the labor and delivery floor where she helped bring many lives into the world and made life long friends. She was a very active member of the AWHONN, (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses), and served on the organization’s executive board.

Linda loved Elvis Presley, and enjoyed spending time outlet shopping and bargain hunting. She collected many music boxes and ornaments over the years. She loved to bake, especially trying out new recipes, and enjoyed watching game shows, House Hunters and Law and Order. One of Linda’s special talents was making every holiday more magical than the one before. Time spent with her friends and family was filled with many laughs and stories. She was happiest having her cherished family around.

She is the beloved mother of Robyn Tumminia (John), Scott Shepard (Carrie), Lauren Kovarczi (John), and Wesley Shepard (Melanie), and proud grandmother of Erin Kovarczi, Tessa Kovarczi, Olivia Shepard, Scarlett A. Kovarczi, Ashley Tumminia, Emmett Shepard, Emily Tumminia, James Tumminia, and Raelyn Shepard. Linda is also survived by two sisters, MaryEllen Simon and Margaret VanNess, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Simon.
