ANSONIA – One person was brought to the hospital after a Metro-North train struck their car on the tracks Monday evening (March 9).

At around 10:26 p.m., responders were alerted that a train had struck a vehicle near the train station (40 W. Main St). One person had been injured inside the car.

Police from Ansonia and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) also responded to the accident, according to emergency radio broadcasts.

Trains were running on schedule as of 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.
