Lorraine Rita Aldrich, age 92, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Boston, MA on January 27, 1934 and was raised in Milton, MA by her loving grandparents Robert and Madeline (Bosworth) Donahoe. Lorraine worked for the Shelton Board of Education for many years until her retirement. She loved reading, watching birds, going to the ocean and a nice long drive. Most of all, she cherished gatherings with her family and friends.

Lorraine was a wonderful home cook and could whip up a delicious meal out of anything she had in the pantry. Her recipes collected from family and friends over many years are a testament to her love of cooking and the relationships that she held close.

She carried her faith with her through all of life’s challenges and practiced patience, forgiveness, and compassion.

She brought a light-heartedness and warmth with her everywhere she went that will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

She was the beloved mother of Adele Falco, Stephanie Young and her husband Huey, loving “Gram” of Douglas Aldrich and his wife Sammy, Gregory Aldrich, Lauren Mondi and her husband Dominic, Christopher Falco and his wife Shelby, Nicole Falkowski and her husband Brian, Jaden Young and Chase Young and cherished “Gigi” of Ella, Caden and Dominic.

Lorraine was predeceased by her infant son Douglas Aldrich, a son Verne “Chip” Aldrich, Jr., a daughter Gretchen Aldrich and her granddaughter Nicole.

Friends may call on Saturday morning, April 11th, from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. Her burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent’s Special Needs Services.
