SEYMOUR — Police said a 79-year-old Oxford resident was killed in a car crash near the intersection of Great Hill and Southwest roads Friday.
The deceased man was identified as Richard DiMauro.
DiMauro was driving a 1930 Model-A Ford when it collided head-on with a Ford F-350 pickup truck. The details of the accident, including the cause, are under investigation. The crash was reported at about 8:55 p.m.
DiMauro was unresponsive at the scene. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven where he was declared dead, according to a social media post from the Seymour Police Department.
Police said the Ford’s 41-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His name was not released. Police said he is a Seymour resident.
Great Hill Road was closed for more than two hours during the investigation. The state police are assisting.
