SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from June 1, 2026 through June 7, 2026.
Seymour police received 283 calls for service and made nine arrests between June 1, 2026 and June 7, 2026.
JUNE 1, 2026
10:56 a.m. A Washington Avenue resident requested police assistance because his neighbor was banging on his door.
1:26 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road (Route 67).
2:16 p.m. Police received several complaints about solicitors from a solar company in the area of Cherry and Sanford streets who did not have permits.
4:58 p.m. Police were called to West Street and Mountain Road for a medical emergency.
5:12 p.m. A caller told police a tractor trailer truck took down some wires near First Street and attempted to flee the scene.
JUNE 2, 2026
4:41 p.m. A Colony Road resident told police he sold something and had not received payment.
5:39 p.m. A Botsford Road resident told police someone was riding a dirt bike at Seymour High School and making a lot of noise. An officer said the individual was practicing cone patterns and left the property without any further issues.
9:27 p.m. A Stanley Drive resident told police a man was sitting in her front yard. An officer spoke with the man who said he was waiting for a ride.
10:19 p.m. A Second Avenue resident told police her neighbors were yelling out the window.
JUNE 3, 2026
12:59 a.m. Police said someone moved the temporary stop signs at Main and Bank streets.
8:28 a.m. The school resource officer at Seymour Middle School reported there was a sick raccoon that he was able to contain in a trash can until it could be dispatched.
12:14 p.m. Police charged a 21-year-old Hartford man with criminal attempt/third-degree burglary.
JUNE 4, 2026
6:05 a.m. A caller told police there was an unresponsive man laying on the ground on North Street. Police said the man was homeless and was sleeping in the grass.
8:03 a.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement on Pearl Street.
1:52 p.m. A caller told police there was a low flying plane near Franklin Street. An officer said there was no plane in sight.
5:56 p.m. A caller told police a small go-kart was riding around Canfield and Mountain roads and was disrupting traffic. Police said the go-kart was gone upon their arrival.
6:23 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Skokorat Street.
9:54 p.m. Police charged a 62-year-old Ansonia man with fourth-degree larceny, disorderly conduct, first-degree failure to appear and second-degree failure to appear.
JUNE 5, 2026
12:09 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road and observed no traffic violations.
9:49 a.m. Police observed traffic for cell phone violations and no violations were reported.
12:41 p.m. Police were called to Seymour High School for a report of a combative student. An officer said the student was escorted out of the school without incident.
12:53 p.m. A Maple Street resident told police her husband was intoxicated and was being belligerent.
3:11 p.m. A caller told police there was a dog inside a car with the windows rolled up in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. An officer made contact with the owner who said the vehicle was running with the air conditioning on.
5 p.m. Police charged a 58-year-old Oxford man with evading responsibility and following too close in connection to a traffic accident.
JUNE 6, 2026
2:03 a.m. Police were called to Boland’s Café on North Street for a medical emergency.
5:19 a.m. A caller told police someone was doing doughnuts with their car in the Tri-Town Plaza parking lot on Derby Avenue. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.
9:34 a.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road. No motor vehicle violations were observed.
6:26 p.m. A First Avenue resident told police she believed she was scammed by a door-to-door salesperson.
6:47 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Roosevelt Drive (Route 34).
JUNE 7, 2026
1:07 a.m. A New Street resident told police her niece stole her vehicle.
10:01 a.m. State Police Troop I asked police to check the Bunting Road area for a report of golf cart that was stolen overnight from a golf course in Bethany. The golf cart was spotted being driven around on Bunting Road. Police located the golf cart at nearby Legion Pool.
12:19 p.m. Police conducted speed enforcement on Bungay Road.
6:39 p.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Naugatuck man with disorderly conduct and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
9:37 p.m. A caller told police an elderly man was taking things off a utility trailer in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Franklin Street. An officer spoke with the man who told police he was using the items to help put his backpack on to transport his groceries.
